USN-1381-1: Ubuntu One Couch vulnerability

1 March 2012

Fraudulent security certificates could allow sensitive information to be exposed when accessing the Internet.

It was discovered that Ubuntu One Couch did not perform any server
certificate validation when using HTTPS connections. If a remote attacker
were able to perform a machine-in-the-middle attack, this flaw could be
exploited to alter or compromise confidential information.

Update instructions

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions:

Ubuntu 11.10

After a standard system update you need to restart your session to make
all the necessary changes.
