# Desktop interface

The desktop interface exposes the host display server.

- Plug attributes: none.
- Plug name: must be `desktop`.
- Plug owner: any regular SDK; not the system SDK.
- Slot: the system SDK provides a single `system:desktop` slot. Other SDKs cannot declare desktop slots.
