# Tagging bugs about Launchpad

Launchpad’s Bug Tracker allows you to create ad-hoc groups of bugs with tagging.

In the Launchpad team, we have a list of agreed tags that we may apply to bugs
reported against various aspects of Launchpad itself. By using a standard set
of tags, each explained on this page, we can avoid confusion.

## Proposing new tags

New tags, or changes in the meaning of existing tags, can be proposed by
[contacting the Launchpad team](https://ubuntu.com/docs/launchpad/help/index.html.md#get-help).

After discussion, the tag should be updated here.

## Approved tags

| regression                | Bugs that represent a regression. These bugs should have a Critical priority.                                    |
| root-cause                | Bugs tracking a root cause analysis of a critical bug                                                            |

| trivial                   | A bug that appears to be very simple to fix                                                                      |
