# Power cycling nodes

Specific operational procedures need to be followed when shutting down or starting up either an entire Ceph cluster or individual cluster components. Procedures dedicated to Charmed Ceph are documented in the [OpenStack Charms Deployment Guide](https://docs.openstack.org/project-deploy-guide/charm-deployment-guide/latest/index.html) under [Managing power events](https://docs.openstack.org/project-deploy-guide/charm-deployment-guide/latest/app-managing-power-events.html#ceph).
